“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” - Mother Teresa
Futures4Haiti is a school sponsorship program that promotes education in one of the poorest countries in the world. There is no government funded program available now or appropriated in the near future to provide for free public education. All children must pay for private school if they want an education. As a result:
- The enrollment rate for primary school in Haiti is 57%, and fewer than 30% of the students reach 6th grade.
- Secondary schools enroll 20% of eligible-age children.
- Haiti’s literacy rate is 52.9%.
Presently we have 23 kids in primary school and one in university. Our goal is to support these kids with school expenses and see them through to graduation. Additionally, we bring donated clothes, shoes, books, food, and supply medical care when needed to our kids and their families.
